Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum
Area: Private Family Mausoleum
Section: 304
Individual Family Mausoleum prices vary greatly depending upon size, design, type, and color of the granite. Our expert staff will help you to select the perfect site, arrange for personal planning sessions with our factory design/build experts as well as to provide pictures and costs. We work with all the major manufacturers and designers to assure you of a complete range of sizes and custom designs. If needed, temporary crypts can be made available while design decisions are being made and construction is taking place.
In order to build a private family mausoleum, you should usually plan on a lot at least the size of 8 graves.

An option to consider is the Private Mausoleum constructed and landscaped with Tricolore Beech trees, shrubbery along with colorful annual flowers. This Mausoleum will accommodate 6 caskets or urns. Additional items for consideration may be: engraving the family name on the exterior along with each individual names on the interior, additional design items to the front elevation such as; a stone/concrete walkway, benches to rest on while you visit, vases for cut flowers or plantings from your families gardens. Once you have created the Family Mausoleum of your specifications you will create an endowment to assure the care of the structure for years to come.

About Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum
Founded in 1841, Woodland Cemetery is one of the nation's oldest rural garden cemeteries and a unique cultural, botanical and educational resource in the heart of Dayton, Ohio. Over 3,000 trees and 165 specimens of native Midwestern woody plants grace the Arboretum's 200 verdant acres of rolling hills. Many of the trees are more than a century old and 10 have been designated "Ohio Champions" by the Ohio Forestry Association. The Romanesque gateway, chapel, and office, completed in 1889 are on the National Register of Historic Places with the chapel featuring one of the finest original Tiffany windows in the country.

The Woodland Mausoleum adds a modern touch to this historic site while featuring 12 beautiful stained glass windows depicting woodland themes from literature and a magnificent rendition of "The Messiah." Thousands tour the grounds each year to visit the gravesites of Wilbur and Orville Wright, poet Paul Laurence Dunbar, inventor Charles F. Kettering; Queen and King of the Gypsies, Matilda and Levi Stanley; Governor James Cox; writer Erma Bombeck; founder of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Jeraldyne Blunden; and entrepreneurs John H. Patterson (NCR), George P. Huffman (Huffy Bicycles), George Mead (Mead Paper), and Preserved Smith (Barney & Smith Mfg. Co.).
